Frequently asked questions
Can I use it on several devices?
Your notebook follows you across phone, tablet and desktop. Changes appear everywhere within seconds.
What about exporting?
Export any note or the whole notebook as plain text, Markdown or PDF at any time. Your words stay yours.
Are my notes private?
Yes. Notes are encrypted on your device before they are synced, and only you hold the key. We cannot read them.
What you get
Private by design
Lock individual notes with a passcode or biometrics and keep sensitive lists away from curious eyes.
Everywhere you are
Start a note on the train and finish it at your desk. Offline edits catch up the moment you reconnect.
Open and type
The app opens straight into a new note. No account prompts, no templates to pick, just a cursor waiting for you.
Search that finds
Full-text search across all your notes, including text inside attached images and PDFs, with results as you type.
About Inkwell
A notes app should be as quick as a paper notebook and as searchable as a database. Everything else is optional. We keep the editor plain and fast, store notes as text you could open anywhere, and encrypt them before they ever leave your device. Tags and pins replace folder trees, search does the organising, and export is always one tap away because your writing should never be locked into a format.
How it works
- 1Open the app and start typing.
- 2Pin the notes you return to often.
- 3Turn on sync to have notes on every device.
- 4Type a word and the note appears.
